Internationally-renowned pianist Michael Lewin returns to Del Mar College for a solo recital featuring works by Haydn, Chopin, Liszt and Gershwin. Lewin has performed throughout the United States as a soloist and chamber musician as well as across Europe and Asia.
His musicianship has earned him many distinguished awards and recognition from such organizations as the Franz Liszt International Competition, Rockefeller Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts and the Aaron Copland Recording Fund. Lewin's numerous recordings feature works by Liszt, Griffes, Scarlatti, Gottschalk, Bolcom and several Russian composers. His most recent compact disc, "If I Were a Bird," was released earlier this year.
Cost is $5 general admission and free for DMC employees and students with a valid College I.D. This event is sponsored by the Del Mar College Cultural Program Series.
