Celebrate the Historic Rialto Theater in Aransas Pass Saturday, November 7; Reception: 6:30pm, Concert: 7:30 p.m.; Tickets $15.00 The Black Tie & Blue Jeans Anniversary Gala celebrates the Grand Opening of the Rialto Theater in November of 1937. This annual fundraiser for the current Rialto Theater & Art Gallery includes a “Toast of the Coast” reception and a concert featuring Claude Bourbon. Audiences should come early for complimentary champagne and samples from local restauranteurs in the Rialto’s gallery, where the work of local Rockport artist, Narice Hopp, will be on exhibit. The gala entertainment, a concert with Claude Bourbon, will begin at 7:30pm. Bourbon comes to the Coastal Bend all the way from the UK, where his unique sound experience has earned him a loyal fan base. Though he is rooted musically in blues, his distinctive style is influenced by the many European cultures he has experienced during his travels. The Rialto’s 2009 Black Tie & Blue Jeans Anniversary Gala looks to be as grand a celebration as the 72 year old theater deserves.
